ABOUT US

The heart of The Stonelands Project is to see young people who have become disengaged or struggling with things to rediscover hope and purpose through agricultural work, one on one time and mentoring. We are a Christian organisation and our faith and love for God are central to everything we do.

Based in Niton Undercliff, Isle of Wight, the project is currently self-funded by the sale of fruit and vegetables from our onsite kiosk. Throughout the year we sell a variety of fruit including strawberries, apples and currants and vegetables all grown onsite.

Central to the vision of the Stonelands project is a 'home farm' building where young people can live as part of the family. The aim is for young people to be able to live and work at Stonelands for a short or long period depending on their needs.

The plan for each young person that comes to be a part of the work at Stonelands is tailor made to each individual.

Young people currently come down to Stonelands during day times and we have had young people working with us on their own or as part of small groups. Every aspect of the way that individuals interact with the project is variable - such as times of day, frequency and intensity of work. We support through qualifications or can function as work experience. But essential to the heart of the project is the emphasis on working together and building relationships, confidence and hope.
